Ranks
The Rogin ranking system is meant as a means of measuring seniority and achievment. The only battlefield application of rank is determining who commands the army when the chieftain and champion are absent. Being of higher rank does not allow a member to order around a lower rank in camp or on the field.
Grunt- Introductory rank, no garb no weapons.
Sentry- Has garb that passes unit and realm inspection. Has a battle name and basic back-story. Has at least one melee weapon, Has attended 1 event, has taken Rogin oaths, receives belt flag.
Scout- Has 2 sets of garb that meets (preferably exceeds) beginner garb. Has attended 5 events.
Guard- Has attended 10 events.
Warrior- Has immaculate Garb. Has attended 20 events.
Huntsman- Has provided much in service and materials to the unit. Has attended 40 events.
Merits
To earn a Merit you must be nominated and all available Rogin (minimum 3) are consulted to decide whether or not the member has earned the award. The physical award is a string of specifically colored beads on a leather lace.
Exceptional Weapons Handling- For exceptional handling of different weapon combinations
Outstanding Characterization- For convincing and consistent portrayal of character
Courageous Battlefield Action- For brave and gutsy behavior on the battlefield
Order of Einar- For flashiness above and beyond that necessary to defeat an enemy
Camp merits are awards given for any specifically non-battle action deserving admiration
Blaze Master- For consistently tending to the camp fires without being asked
Healer- For constantly volunteering medical services and tending to the wounded
Gatherer- For frequently providing meals and water for the unit without being asked
Organizer- For consistent aid to unit organization and realm battle coordination
